Make a photo slideshow with music, free.
Drop in a folder of photos, play a song, and Tape 90 builds the slideshow for you, changing picture on the beat with a warm VHS finish. It runs in your browser and your photos never leave your computer.
Open the free studioNo sign-up. No uploads. Works in Chrome and Edge.
How to make one
- Gather your photos in one folder. Phone exports, scans and camera files all work, along with short MP4 or MOV clips.
- Open the studio and drop the folder in. Drag it anywhere on the page or use Add folder. Subfolders come along too.
- Play the song. Press Connect system audio and share the tab or app that’s playing, or open a music file from your computer.
- Pick a style and cut speed. Every 4 or 8 beats suits a slow song; every beat or 2 beats suits something upbeat.
- Press Watch tape, then F. The slideshow plays fullscreen for as long as the music lasts.
Made for the moments people actually make slideshows for
- Birthdays and anniversaries. Scrapbook lays out three prints at once and reshuffles them every eight beats.
- Weddings and engagements. Drift and Introspective use slow pans and soft dissolves for a first-dance song.
- Trips and summers. Flexing cuts on every beat for something with energy.
- Memorials and tributes. Noir’s silver tone and long holds give each photo room. Add your own captions under My lines.
- Graduations and reunions. Put it on the TV at the party and leave it running.
Tips for a better slideshow
- Choose the song first, then the style. The cut speed should feel like the song.
- Add a title card, such as “Lena turns 30”, under Captions & title card.
- Turn on Mix in folder videos to drop short muted clips between photos.
- Use 9:16 portrait for vertical phone photos, or 16:9 for a TV.
